圣帕特里克节 St Patrick's Day

每年3月17日

要穿绿色衣服？

佩戴绿色或者三叶草形状装饰品？

这个很“绿”的日子

是爱尔兰的国庆节

为纪念爱尔兰的守护神圣帕特里克而设立

It happens every year at March 17th.

It is the national holiday of Ireland,

and it honors St Patrick,

the patron saint of Ireland.

圣帕特里克节有两个最典型的象征物

一个是三片叶子连为一体的三叶草

象征宗教上的三位一体

另一个是爱尔兰传说故事中的小精灵

——绿衣老矮人

圣帕特里克节的传统颜色为绿色

这一天只有身上带点绿

才能避免被小精灵恶作剧

St Patrick’s Day has

two traditional symbols.

First is a three leaf clover.

The symbol of the Holy Trinity:

The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Second is the magical creature

known as the Leprechaun.

The traditional color of St. Patrick’s Day.

You need to wear some green to

keep safe from magical creatures

looking to trick you and take your money.

每年圣帕特里克节

不止是爱尔兰，在美国、日本等国家

庆祝节日的男女老少

也都全身上下用绿色装扮

甚至把河水都染成绿色...

还要举行游行、教堂礼拜和聚餐等活动

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated every year

all over the world, not just Ireland.

Some cities in America even

dye their rivers green.

Our future citizens of the world

are full of curiosity and want to

learn about the different countries

and cultures of the world.

We combined St. Patrick’s Day

and Dr Seuss Reading Month

so the children can discover new happiness.

孩子们又会在感受“守护、爱、幸福”中

发现怎样的乐趣呢？

On March 17th the world is green.

We see roses the color red,

clouds the color white.

The children can see

that nature if full of colors and diversity.

3月17日，是绿色的

On March 17th the world is green

花儿是红色的？天空是蓝色的？

云朵是白色的？

不，在孩子们的眼睛里

大自然是绚丽多彩的

世界是多姿多样的

而3月17日这天，幼儿园是绿色的

为了让孩子们体验这一抹绿色文化

老师们通过多次研讨

方案制定、调整、再制定

筹备物资、布置环境、打造游戏

用独特的视角传递着节日的每一个元素

用跳跃的思维创造着每一秒的精彩

On March 17th the kindergarten

is green as well so the children

can experience this new culture.

Teachers taught several culture classes,

made crafts, decorated the school,

and created new games for the children

to experience this holiday.

3月17日，是快乐的

March 17th was a happy day

一大早，孩子们就像飞舞的小精灵

穿着绿色的衣服飞奔而来

他们在老师们的带领下

在爱尔兰风音乐中共舞

在幼儿园各个角落寻找着金币

Early in the morning the children

are dressed in green.

The got to look for gold coins

left by leprechauns in their classroom.

他们唱着、笑着，跳着、欢呼着

每一刻每一瞬

都让人忍不住嘴角上翘

They sang and laughed, danced and cheered

Every moment, every moment

People can't help but

curl up the corners of their mouths.

March 17th was a warm, welcoming day

在这一天，怎么少得了

节日绘本《LEPRECHAUNTRAP》共读会

孩子们身着绿装

满心欢喜地翻开书本

用稚嫩的声音稚嫩，用流畅的英文

分享着书中的七彩世界

在这轻松的共读的时光里

我们感受到了孩子们的快乐与友爱

也看到了孩子们的进步与成长

We had a big celebration with dancing,

singing, and stories.

The children were all smiles.

During this celebration we

read the story “The Leprechaun Trap”.

The students showed

everyone their English skills.

不同类型的阅读活动

让孩子们接触到更多优秀儿童作品

带领他们去发现书本中的大千世界

阅读的兴趣，便是由此而起

也是孩子终身学习的基石

This month we have had

many different reading activities.

We want the children to discover

their own love of reading by letting them

discover new worlds and interests.

Reading is the cornerstone to learning.

St. Patrick’s Day is fun and green.

It is also very important to Ireland, as well as,

a way to remember their national hero.

The children had fun with the activities

planned by the teachers.

They also are learning about

new countries and cultures.

The world is full of new places

and things to explore.
